Air pollution is a major problem for many countries around the world. The reduction of air pollution will take the effort and will require change on the part of many regions. The most important thing any one country can do is to reduce the amount of fossil fuels that are burned. This means burning less coal, wood, oil and gasses that can release carbon monoxide into the air. The burning of coal in particular has grave consequences for air quality.

Counties that employ large mass transit systems will be far better off because they will significantly reduce air pollution. Car emissions can be a major factor in air pollution, especially in the creation of smog. If a country has an outstanding transit system, they will likely use less automobiles. This in turn prevents car emissions from polluting the air.

Finally, countries can try to purchase local produce and farm in their own regions rather than importing it. Not only does this practice add to the local economy of the country, but it also prevents trucking and shipping food to feed the people of their nation. It also can help to prevent additional emissions from accumulating because they imported food rather than utilized local farmers.

The most pronounced effect on an ecosystem from acid rain can be seen in various fresh water environments. Aquatic ecosystems in lakes, rivers, streams and various wetland areas can be devastated by this type of pollution. This is primarily due to the dependency that fresh water animals have on water having a pH level within a specific range. Although there can be wide variation in these levels, they have a tendency to fall between 6 and 8 when life is abundant.

When acid rain hits the water, it will increase the pH levels, but it is the surrounding soil that creates the bigger problem. You can find a quick rundown here Most soil will absorbed some of the excess acid, but in most cases, the acid rain is overwhelming and the run off from the soil will contain high levels of aluminum that results in the destruction of life in the environment. Although there is a range of life that is hurt by low pH levels, it is the fish that die the quickest. Trout and bass both have low tolerance for lower pH levels, but frogs have a higher tolerance. Animals such as snails are more sensitive than fish. However, because animals and plants are all connected together in a web of life, the loss of one species can lead the destruction of the entire ecosystems.

Going green is easy and it’s also going to save you money as well as help the environment. There are many different ways that you can go green and you can start implementing these changes in your life right away so you can start to make a difference. The sooner you start the more good it’s going to do, and even the small things you do can help you live greener while preserving the environment.

1. Carry around a water bottle don’t use multiple plastic bottles.
2. Get the reusable shopping bags.
3. Recycle everything you can including paper, plastic, glass, electronics and more.
4. Use less water by shortening showers and washing clothes and vehicles more efficiently, also water plants and lawn with rain bins.
5. Use less utilities by turning your water tank down and turning off the lights when you can.
6. Quit driving when you don’t need to or car pool.
7. Use white distilled vinegar mixed with water as a cleaning product instead of chemicals.
8. Buy recycled paper products.
9. Use cloth diapers and make baby wipes out of recycled paper towel.
10. By furniture and household items at used stores and fix up or refinish.

A lot of people have concerns about the environment these days, and these are legitimate worries to have with the way that the planet has been treated in the past. And while most people have at least heard about climate change at some point, whether they believe in it or not, many people are not very educated about what climate change actually means.

Essentially climate change refers to the global rise in temperature that the planet is seeing as a result of the greenhouse gases that have been built up within the atmosphere. However, even with just realizing that the overall temperature of the Earth is gradually raising, a lot of people do not realize the effect that this can have on everyone on the planet. For example, this small increase in temperature can lead to glaciers melting, causing a dangerous rise in sea levels. Over time, this can become even more of a problem, as coastlines can be eradicated.

For this reason, as well as many others, climate change is something that needs to be taken seriously, and more measures should be taken as a way to stop climate change in its tracks and even reverse it, if at all possible.

Most people are aware of dangers that threaten our planet like global warming and the devastation of oil spills. There are many serious ecological dangers worldwide that threaten our way of life. Here are five of the worst.

Deforestation – Saving our trees is imperative in reducing harmful greenhouse gas emissions. Destruction of the world’s rainforests will accelerate global warming. Its effects would be felt around the world.

Ocean Dead Zones – There are spots in different oceans around the world that have no life in them due to lack of oxygen. Is this new to you? Catch up here These ocean dead zones affect marine life and the level of dangerous carbon dioxide in the air.

Over Fishing – Across the world millions of people depend of fish as one of their diets staples. The excess of commercial fishing is threatening fish species. Areas polluted by heavy fishing are at risk of mammal extinction.

Overpopulation – The explosion of the population around the world is taking its toll on our planet’s resources. This increase causes more pollution to our air and water.

Animal Extinction – With one in four animals being close to extinction, this would be catastrophic worldwide. These extinctions would upset the balance of our world’s food chain.
